This photograph was taken in 1962 in West Berlin. It encapsulates the strong working relationship between three of the occupying forces, the British, French and Americans. The Russians, though invited, chose not to attend. On this occasion, the British were represented by my parents, Tony and Joyce Ferguson. Tony is second from left, Joyce is on the right hand side of the group.
Look at the interestingly dressed brass band in the background!
Which couple do you think is French, and which couple are the Americans?
Do you know who this man is (clue: a future Prime Minister) shaking hands with my father at R.A.F. Gatow, West Berlin, in 1961?
Who’s this, on the left, playing in the (R.A.F. Gatow C.O.’s) garden in the spring of 1961?
