Sending the research paper on my family history to Durham University and receiving good feedback from Professor Chris Gerrard, the head of the Scottish Soldiers project.
Setting myself the challenge of writing a 4,000 word short story, staring at a blank screen for ten minutes, then using ‘stream of consciousness’ writing techniques to bash out an initial draft.
